The new big-and-tall collection took a booth at Liberty Fairs.
Las Vegas may be in the desert, but former Major League Baseball All-Star Mo Vaughn was in town to test the waters.
Last week, Vaughn launched MVP Collections, a men’s big-and-tall sportswear line that was going to be promoted on social media and sold on the brand’s web site. But MVP Collections took a booth at the Liberty Fairs show in Vegas where Vaughn held court, signing autographs and rubbing elbows with retailers. And the next thing you know, he was in the wholesale business.
“People are asking about it,” he said. “We need to be open-minded and flexible and we’re doing that.”
Vaughn’s partner in the line of activewear, denim, casual tops, T-shirts, dress shirts and sport coats is apparel industry veteran Diane Cutuli, whose idea it was to take a booth at the trade show. She said the line attracted interest from stores around the country and as a result, MVP Collections will add a few accounts in a handful of cities and see how it works.
